Angel Corps “Squadron 108” came to town with a bang on Saturday, reaching out to locals and lightening up a grey rainy day.
Rank and file of the squadron’s advance party took to the streets in a charm offensive which culminated in a late night parade starting at the War Memorial. The troupe were joined by several members of the Suffragette Movement campaigning for women’s right to vote, and representatives from the Hodgson Brewery, who have helped fund the campaign through the sales of a new brew called Mrs Hodgson’s Special IPA.
During the day Angel Corps marched through town in a show of strength, disrupting illegal gatherings of the so-called Machine Liberation Front, and apprehended several petty criminals.
The night ended true to form, when a barman at the New Union Tavern refused to serve the squadron leader’s Clockwork Servant, which led to a heated confrontation.
We aren’t certain as to how this issue was resolved, but when our reporter left the bar there was merriment all round, with the locals and Angel Corps dancing late into the night with music by David Silverman, Luke and Joe McGarry, Karla Lopes, and the Angels themselves.
