ARRIVAL OF ANGEL CORPS: A POLICE OPINION

September 27, 1910 ·

While the arrival of Angel Corps has been a common topic of discussion recently, the Gazette feels that one aspect of their arrival has not yet been touched upon: the opinion of the Police. In order to investigate, I was sent into Kendal to interview a few select members of the Police about Angel Corps to get a general feel for what their overall opinion is.

Immediately upon entering the station, I could already feel some unease – noticing a distinct separation within the numbers and some tension in the air. I was then led to the staff room where I was sat down and told to wait for the officers to come and talk to me.

Officer Jack Woods, the first to talk to me, said he felt that he and a few other officers here were slightly wary of Angel Corps’ arrival because they were unsure of how it might affect their authority in Kendal. With Angel Corps serving under the Queen’s orders directly, they can be viewed as having a higher status than that of the local Police. This may cause issues for the Police as the public could see this as a chance to surpass any Police laws if they clash with what a member of Angel Corps says.

A similar opinion was shared by Officer Ethan Johnson, saying that he was also cautious about their arrival due to their history of sparking violence within taverns. He believes that it will be difficult to continue maintaining the peace if such an esteemed force causes problems within the town.

Alternatively, another Officer named Ryan Wilson believes that their arrival can be viewed as a positive. Thanks to them, he feels that the police can hold a firmer grip on crimes in Kendal – with the strength of two groups possibly working much more effectively than just one.

While there is indeed a slight difference of opinion within the police, they have said together that they will continue to work as a key part of the community and uphold the peace.
