Kendal Prepares For The Weekend Parade

October 9, 1910 ·

Banners are up, shop windows festooned with posters, bunting criss-crosses the high street, and expectation level is at an all time high, as Kendal prepares for a Homecoming Parade that seems to have split the small town community down the middle. It is just a few days before Her Majesty’s all-female airship squadron take ownership of the their new headquarters, by marching through the streets of Kendal.

Angel Corps is coming to town, and they will be on a charm offensive hoping to rally the locals behind them. Even though they have kept a very low profile since the advance party arrived in town a few weeks ago, it would seem that their reputation has preceded them. And it is this that has shaken up the community.

The women are known for their no-nonsense attitude whenever they are faced with sexist remarks, or inequality. They are loved by some, and respected by many.

The homecoming parade starts at 8:30pm in front of the war memorial on Saturday.
